FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions will celebrate the contributions of students, faculty and staff to scholarly achievement at its annual Honors Convocation to be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in the Fayetteville Town Center. The college will recognize scholarship donors and the 74 students who have been awarded college scholarships for the coming academic year. Reed Greenwood, dean of the college, noted that in addition to financial assistance, scholarships are a vote of confidence for students seeking an education.

“I know I speak for the entire college when I say how deeply grateful we are to the donors whose generosity supports so many students. In no small way, they are part of our students’ success,” Greenwood said.

The college will also celebrate student accomplishments and encourage future achievement. In addition to recognizing the 178 students who earned a place on the Chancellor’s List or the Dean’s List, the college will honor undergraduate and graduate students who have been awarded departmental honors.

The college’s newest Doctoral Academy Fellows will be recognized. They are Rose Hartzell, health science; Terri Owens, vocational education; Sofia Sweeney, curriculum and instruction; William Walker, kinesiology; and Kumlan Yu, counseling education.
