FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas now has an online database of campus experts.
Users can search the database for faculty and staff expertise using keywords that describe their interests. Users also can search the database by unit, such as the college name, or by category.
“We have experts in a wide variety of fields, from accounting to wildlife conservation,” said Melissa Lutz Blouin, director of science and research communications at the university.
The database contains more than 500 experts, Blouin said. Each entry includes the person’s contact information, title, college or unit, department and the nature of his or her expertise. The entries also contain high-resolution photographs when available and links to previous news releases that relate to the expert’s research or expertise.
While the database holds a lot of information about research and expertise, it does not include every topic or every expert, Blouin said.
“We encourage people to contact our office if they do not find an expert in the subject they need information about,” she said. “The list is a dynamic work in progress that we will continue to build on.”
