The Graduate School and International Education and the College of Engineering recently connected with U of A alumni living in the Bay Area during a gathering in San Jose, California, on May 17.
Ed Pohl, dean of GSIE; Mathilda Hatfield, director of development in GSIE; Katy Nelson-Ginder, national director of philanthropy in University Development; and John Matsko, senior director of development in the College of Engineering, hosted nearly 30 Razorback alumni at Meso Modern Mediterranean restaurant in San Jose. During the event, alumni in the Bay Area met and shared their experiences, while also reconnecting with the U of A.
"It was wonderful to see our alumni from various academic colleges and hear more about how their experiences at the U of A shaped their careers and lives," Pohl said. "Our alumni are some of our greatest champions, and their continued engagement is a testament to the lasting impact of their time at the university."
The gathering is part of a broader effort by GSIE to connect with alumni from across the U of A's academic colleges. GSIE also hosted an alumni gathering in Boston last summer.
"We loved meeting with our alumni, hearing their stories and sharing with them the exciting news and developments about the University of Arkansas," Hatfield said. "We look forward to staying in touch with our Razorback family and creating more opportunities for them to engage with the university and support future generations of students."
