The College of Engineering's dean's office is pleased to announce that Shannon Davis has joined the college as engineering research coordinator.

In this role, Davis will provide vital support to the college's faculty through strategic proposal development, including budget preparation, cost sharing and the coordination of complex center, multi-faculty and multi-institutional proposals. She will also serve as a key resource on sponsor and university regulatory and compliance matters and will contribute to advancing research training activities within the college.

Davis brings 28 years of distinguished service at the U of A, having held positions across central administration, college administration and departmental levels in two different colleges. Reflecting on her new role, Davis said, "I am extremely proud to be a member of the College of Engineering team."

Dean Kim Needy said Davis has worked and collaborated successfully with a diverse array of faculty, staff, students and sponsors.

"She has a unique and comprehensive understanding of the university's research ecosystem," Needy said. "We're thrilled to have Shannon on board to help our faculty grow, enhance and elevate their research efforts."

Davis holds a Ph.D. in government from the University of Kansas, with a specialization in political psychology and organizational decision-making. She has 40 years of experience managing both pre- and post-award aspects of sponsored programs.

She served as principal investigator or co-PI on proposals totaling over $56.9 million for the U of A. She is a Certified Research Administrator and holds certifications in financial management and in professional program development and grant communication.
