Latest 'Short Talks' Podcast Explores Uses and Limits of AI
Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence, and AI is talking back to us. Artificial intelligence has been integrated into our phones, our internet searches, our cars, and even some high-end kitchen appliances. Researchers are using AI to make new discoveries in medicine, chemistry and physics. While some worry that AI will replace white collar workers, others see a future where AI benefits everyone.
On the latest Short Talks from the Hill podcast, Varun Grover, a Distinguished Professor of information systems in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, studies the impact of technology on people, companies and society. And he has thought a lot about AI in research papers, editorials and a regular series of philosophical posts on LinkedIn.
“I'm optimistic about the technology, so I have no doubt the technology will advance as it has been. The pace of technology advancement is going to be incredible. I'm less optimistic about the humans and their ability to react, and by humans, I mean the humans as individuals and the humans as social institutions,” Grover said.
