U of A Police Department Welcomes LaShundria Allen as Executive Administrative Assistant
The U of A Police Department is pleased to announce the appointment of LaShundria Allen as its new executive administrative assistant. Allen brings more than a decade of experience in administrative operations and public safety, with a background spanning higher education, healthcare and the hospitality industry.
Allen joins UAPD after serving at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she worked in the Police and Public Safety Department from 2015 to 2024 as assistant to the chief of police. She also earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from UAPB.
Allen steps into the position previously held by Debra Abshier, who retired in July 2024 after 22 years of service to the department.
"I am excited to be graced with an opportunity to serve the command staff, UAPD team and the UAF campus community," Allen said. "Everyone has welcomed me with open arms, and I look forward to going over and above to exceed their expectations."
In her new role, Allen will support departmental leadership and play a key role in strategic planning and daily operations alongside the command staff.
"We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Allen to the University of Arkansas Police Department," said Stephen Gahagans, chief of police. "Her background, professionalism and dedication to public safety make her an excellent fit for our team. I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to the department and look forward to supporting her continued growth and success with UAPD."
