UAPD Honors Dispatch Team During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
The U of A Police Department (UAPD) recognizes the achievements of its dispatch team as part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, honoring individuals who answer emergency and non-emergency calls across the nation. The UAPD Telecommunications Center is composed of the following members, five of whom are students:

- Kayla Hatfield
- Jennifer Castaneda-Hernandez
- Lauren Clark
- Nereida Ramos
- Chloe Sandoval
- Haley Roman
- Spencer Hare
Highlights from the dispatch team's work in 2024 include:
- 6,947 calls for service (not including officer-initiated)
- 838 emergency calls for service via 911
- 3,285 traffic stops
- Teaching a telecommunications course for 911 dispatchers across the state
- Instructing self-defense courses on campus
- Ensuring sufficient staffing during on-campus football games
