Former NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice will deliver a moderated question and answer session as part of the Distinguished Lectures Committee's series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Bud Walton Arena. No tickets are required to attend the event.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. at the Bud Walton south entrance only. Any questions about the event should be directed towards Student Involvement & Leadership at osa@uark.edu.

Rice is widely recognized as the best wide receiver to ever play in the NFL. He played for the San Francisco 49ers for 15 years, winning three Super Bowls and one Super Bowl MVP. After his time with the 49ers, Rice spent three years with the Oakland Raiders and one year with the Seattle Seahawks before retiring in 2005. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010. A 13-time pro-bowler, Rice holds the record for the most NFL records, including most touchdowns scored, most yards receiving and most receptions.

Since leaving the NFL, Rice has been a sports analyst for ESPN and NBC and appeared on numerous other television shows, including Dancing with the Stars. He has co-authored two books, including New York Times bestseller Super Bowl 50: 50 Years 50 Moments. In 2020 along with his family, Rice launched a lifestyle brand called G.O.A.T. Fuel, which aims to empower greatness.

The U of A Police Department will be responsible for traffic flow and security at all of the evening's events. Special security measures will be in place at Bud Walton Arena for the lecture. Each person entering the arena will be required to pass through a security checkpoint, and attendees should allow extra time for security procedures.
