Through the Volunteer Action Center, Passionate about Literacy and Student Engagement are hosting a Spelling Bee at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Gearhart Auditorium! This is the second annual Spelling Bee held by PAL.

This event is held during GY10 week, where students and faculty are encouraged to obtain 10 service hours in order to become part of VAC membership and learn about the impact of service!

During the Spelling Bee, there will be a book drive where attendees can donate their unused books for service hours! Two books equates to one service hour.

Attendees have the chance to participate or spectate an entertaining spelling event for the chance to win prizes and bragging rights. Chick-fil-A will be provided to attendees!

The Volunteer Action Center is a student-led organization that connects students at the U of A to service opportunities on and off campus.

The Volunteer Action Center seeks to foster a positive relationship between students at the U of A and the Northwest Arkansas community through its six signature programs: Be B.O.L.D., Dream B.I.G., the Jane B. Gearhart Food Circle Food Pantry, Passionate About Literacy, Razorback Food Recovery and Student Engagement. Learn more by visiting volunteer.uark.edu or @uavac on Instagram!
