This past weekend, the U of A Mock Trial program sent two teams to compete in the first round of the American Mock Trial Association's annual regional tournament. Team Luigi competed as Arkansas A, and team Donkey Kong competed as Arkansas B in Springfield, Missouri. Arkansas A was one of the top six teams in the field and earned a first place bid to the Open Round Championship Series in Geneva, Illinois. 

Arkansas A finished with a record of 7.5 wins, placing first place out of 22 teams. With this finish, the U of A mock trial will send Arkansas A to the Open Round Championship Series in two weeks! 

Among their achievements, senior Vasoula Drosopoulos stood out and earned a prestigious 16 rank all-regional witness award for the plaintiff. Lex Beck, junior, also earned a 16 rank all-regional witness award on the Defense. Alongside, Maddie Gwinner, junior, stole the show as she earned a prestigious perfect 20 rank all-regional attorney award on the plaintiff!

Arkansas B also had a phenomenal round this weekend! Facing difficult competition, each member represented the U of A extremely well with commendable performances. To add to their success, sophmore Anna Wood earned a prestigious 17 rank all-regional attorney award on the defense!

Overall, the spring season was a testament to the dedication, hard work and talent of our mock trial teams. Their exceptional performances demonstrate the invaluable skills and experience gained through participation in the U of A Mock Trial program. Congratulations to all our teams on a job well done!
