Arkansas Union Sustainability is excited to announce its February Insight Forum featuring Taylor Osburn from Boston Mountain Solid Waste District who acts as the district's sustainability coordinator. The forum will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Arkansas Union, room 507. All students, faculty and staff are welcome!

This month's featured speaker will talk about the challenges of managing the solid waste of an entire region like Northwest Arkansas. Attendees will learn about differences between recycling in a larger city versus recycling in a small rural community. There will also be a sneak preview into upcoming studies into the solid waste of Northwest Arkansas that Boston Mountain Solid Waste District is commissioning.

Sustainability forums are opportunities to share the Union's progress on goals and efforts while seeking input and conversation from the campus community. Forums open with a short welcome and a transparency report from the Arkansas Union's sustainability intern. A member of ARKU Sustainability's Advisor Network will give a short presentation highlighting how they are involved in sustaining our beautiful campus, city and region. After the featured presentation, there will be around 30 minutes left for Q&A and general discussion.

If you'd like to attend, please make a reservation through the Insight Forum's Hogsync page. Light refreshments and charcuterie from our partners at Ozark Catering will be provided for attendees. Registered participants of Sustainability Insight Forums receive one volunteer hour.
