Poetry as an Act of Love

Poetry as an Act of Love
Larissa Rocha

The Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies Program, in partnership with the Spanish section, invites the U of A community to a celebration of love and friendship from 2-3 p.m. today, Friday, Feb. 14, in J.B. Hunt Center, room 207.

Poetry is the preferred language when it comes to love. Join us in this creative and ludic activity where, through poetry, we will create and affirm an environment in which love can exist and expand.

Attendees will have the chance to participate in the production of a collective poem (English) utilizing the surrealist technique cadaver exquis, in which participants write in turn on a sheet of paper, fold to conceal what they have written, and pass it on to the next player. Light refreshments will be served.

Join us in celebrating love and friendship while taking part in this special tradition! Love is our true nature and the fabric of reality itself.
