The Substance Education, Assessment, & Recovery (SEAR) program at Pat Walker Health Center is pleased to announce that Jennifer Morris, the SEAR Program coordinator, earned her Arkansas Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) status, effective Jan. 5.

Morris, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the substance use field, received her licensure from the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling.

"We are thrilled to celebrate Jennifer Morris on earning her LPC-S licensure! This achievement reflects Jennifer's dedication to professional growth and her passion for guiding the next generation of counselors. Jennifer's expertise has already made a significant impact, and we are excited to see how her leadership continues to strengthen our outreach and recovery efforts." said Dr. Huda Sharaf, medical director at Pat Walker Health Center.

The LPC-S credential qualifies her to provide clinical supervision to Licensed Associate Counselors as they work toward terminal licensure—a significant milestone that enhances her ability to mentor emerging clinicians and further strengthen mental health and substance use counseling services on campus.

"This certification is a milestone that highlights our dedication to nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals," Morris said. "It recognizes not only my professional journey but also our collective mission to provide comprehensive, evidence-based supervision to Licensed Associate Counselors as they work toward terminal licensure."

As a vital member of SEAR's team at Pat Walker Health Center, Morris's expertise has driven innovative outreach and recovery initiatives across campus. The new LPC-S licensure empowers her to offer enhanced clinical supervision and mentorship, ensuring that emerging counselors receive the guidance necessary to excel in a rapidly evolving field. By achieving this significant credential, Morris not only marks a personal triumph but also reinforces SEAR's role in shaping high-quality mental health and substance use services for the U of A community.
