Screening of 'Carving the Divine,' Japanese Buddhist Sculpture Today
There will be a screening of Carving the Divine this evening. The documentary offers a close look at a 1,400-year-old tradition of Japanese Buddhist sculpture and the master-apprentice relationship that preserves it.
The screening will take place 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in GEAR 026. The 98-minute screening will be followed by Zoom Q&A with the filmmaker, Yujiro Seki.
This event is co-sponsored by the Tyson Center for Faith-Friendly Workplaces and by the programs in Religious Studies, Art History, Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Asian Studies, and International and Global Studies.
