Stanford Professor's Database Lists 12 College of Engineering Faculty
A dozen College of Engineering faculty members are among the top-cited scientists worldwide according to a database developed by a Stanford University professor using citation information from Scopus.
The database provides standardized information from a snapshot taken Aug. 1, according to information posted in the Elsevier Data Repository. The database classifies scientists in 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields based on research impact measures such as citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator known as a c-score.
"We're thrilled and not surprised to have nearly 10 percent of our tenure track faculty included in this prestigious ranking of research impact," said Sandra Eksioglu, associate dean for research. "This ranking shows our researchers' influence and international recognition is significant and expanding."
Half of the faculty members on the list are part of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, including four who are members of the UA Power Group.
College of Engineering faculty on the top-cited list are:
Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering
