The deadline for the Call for Papers for the 35th annual Arkansas College Art History Symposium, scheduled to be held at the School of Art over March 6-7, has been extended to Sunday, Jan. 26.
The School of Art at the University of Arkansas welcomes undergraduate students attending Arkansas colleges and universities to submit abstracts (250-word maximum) for 20-minute papers to be presented at the 35th Annual Arkansas College Art History Symposium.
We welcome papers that represent original art historical and interdisciplinary research on art and architecture from any historical period and geographical focus. Students who engage in their research with art historical and critical methods — addressing iconography, class, race, gender, Indigeneity, the economy, the environment, and/or decolonization, for example — are strongly encouraged to apply. Additionally, we welcome papers that explore AI visualization, urbanism, adaptive reuse, and/or curatorial practice. We also invite papers that are interdisciplinary in scope and focused on areas of research such as the anthropology of art and space as well as the study of cinema.
Please email the abstract by the end of the day on Jan. 26 to Akshaya Tankha, atankha@uark.edu. Please include your name, major, year of study, college or university, and the name of your faculty mentor. Notification of acceptance will be communicated via email in the first week of February.
