The Black Grad Students Association, Black Law Student Association, the Law School, the Multicultural Center and Enrollment Services are partnering again to host the annual Silas Hunt Day celebration and First Friday Kickoff to Black History Month.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, on the fourth floor of the Arkansas Union. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to come celebrate the legacy of Silas Hunt!

Registered student organizations across campus are invited to celebrate and participate. Upon receiving your acceptance, we will reserve a table for your RSO. Participating will allow your RSO to connect with other students outside the law school and show the significance of trailblazers such as Silas Hunt. The environment will be laid-back, fun and a great opportunity to network with other students across the university. The event will offer free food, T-shirts and a showing of the Silas Hunt documentary, as well as remarks from Judge Cara Connors.

RSOs interested in tabling can sign up here.

Additionally, a common question that has been asked is, "What do we need to bring?" The answer is, "It's up to you!" Your RSO may decorate your table however you please, so long as it is appropriate and professional. Please bring something to honor Silas Hunt at your table (pictures of Silas, facts, history). RSOs may bring snacks or candy along with any handouts about your RSO.

We ask that we receive confirmation of your acceptance by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24. If you have any questions, please email Braziel Hatch hatch@uark.edu or email BGSA@uark.edu.
