The Applied Behavior Analysis Program at the U of A has two openings for preschool-aged children with complex communication needs.

The free program meets from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from Jan. 21 to May 1. Families will be responsible for transportation. There are no inclusion criteria for participation, and the program is free of any cost to families or insurance.

Children participating in the program are taught in a preschool learning environment using ABA methods. Each preschool child is assigned a graduate student to work with them throughout the 12-week program, which is overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analysis Doctoral Level (BCBA-D).

Children must meet the following criteria to attend the preschool group:

  • Be between the ages of 2 and 5 years old
  • Have a diagnosis of autism or be on a waiting list for an autism diagnostic evaluation
  • Have complex communication needs

Interested families/caregivers/case managers should contact Liz Lorah, associate professor of special education, at lorah@uark.edu.
