The following policies have been recently updated. A brief overview of the updates is provided below. The updated policies can be viewed at policies.uark.edu.
Fayetteville Policies and Procedures Policy Update
Fayetteville Policy and Procedure 504.2: Student or Student's Spouse Called Into Military Service - Tuition and Fee and Enrollment Compensatory Options
This revision updates tuition and fee refund policies when a student or a student's spouse is called into military service as required by federal law. The revisions are aligned with the new Academic Policy 1520.30 (that details the approval process when completing courses during the semester of activation) and 1520.40 (the process by which students called into military service notify the university of their activation and the university's responsibilities for readmission of deactivated service members).
Academic Policy Updates
Academic Policy 1405.17: Instructions and Guidelines for Preparation of Nominations for the Alumni Association Faculty Distinguished Achievement Awards and the Charles and Nadine Baum Faculty Teaching Award
The revision to this policy streamlines requirements for nomination packets for each of the awards and clarifies the timeline for nominations to be submitted to the Provost's Office no later than April 25 each year.
Academic Policy 1520.30: Student or Student's Spouse Called into Military Service—Accommodation for Remote Course Delivery (new policy)
This policy details the approval process when an instructor wishes to accommodate a student or a student's spouse who is called into military service to assist with completing courses during the semester of activation. It is aligned with the new Academic Policy 1520.40 and changes to Fayetteville Policies and Procedures 504.2.
Academic Policy 1520.40: Student or Student's Spouse Called into Military Service—Notification Responsibilities, Readmission Procedures and Eligibility (new policy)
This policy details the process by which students called into military service notify the university of their activation and the university's responsibilities for readmission of deactivated service members as required by federal law.
Academic Policy 1800.10: Academic Display Spaces Policy (new policy)
This policy creates a new framework that details existing university guidelines and laws regarding display spaces and allows units to create their own policies regarding publicly visible academic display spaces that they control. These display spaces include bulletin boards, display cases or cabinets, walls or other designated spaces that display student work or items owned or borrowed by the university.
