U of A Recognized With 'Open Doors 75 Seal of Excellence'
Open Doors, a comprehensive report for international students and scholars published by the Institute of International Education, recently recognized the U of A with the Open Doors 75 Seal of Excellence, denoting the university's participation in the report since its beginning in 1949.
The U of A annually provides data to the Institute of International Education for the report, including international student enrollment, studying abroad participation and other forms of internation education opportunities.
"By contributing to the Open Doors report, the University of Arkansas helps provide information to institutions, scholars, donors and lawmakers about trends in student global mobility and the importance of international education," said Sara Parrot, director of international students and scholars.
Open Doors is a comprehensive information resource on international students and scholars studying or teaching at higher education institutions in the United States and U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit at their home colleges or universities. This survey of international exchange activity in the U.S. is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with funding provided by the U.S. government and supported in its implementation by the Institute of International Education.
"The university's longstanding participation in IIE's Open Doors Report is demonstrative of our commitment to global education and engagement," said Lindsey Aloia, associate dean for international education in GSIE. "Our report highlights the University of Arkansas' achievements in international education and identifies opportunities to expand and enhance our global presence."
