Learn Social Media Writing and Content Writing/Strategy This Spring

This spring, Adam R. Pope in the Department of English will be offering a special section of ENGL 49003 focusing on Social Media Writing, Content Writing and Content Stategy. In the course, students will focus on building social media presences and campaigns while coordinating that work with organizations' websites. As part of the process, students will also learn how to organize and then upkeep a content strategy for an organization.

This special topics section of ENGL 49003 is directly related to associate professor Pope's recent research on content creators and brand relationships and how social media work builds communities around both. As Pope explains, "This course is really exciting for me, as I've spent the last year interviewing content creators and brands on their work with social media platforms. This is some of the most important writing that happens in organizations these days, as this course prepares students to take a leadership role in planning and upkeeping their organizations' social media content as well as their website documentation."

This course is not currenty a regular offering and is being offered as a one-off topic this spring.
