HiDEC Offers Printed Circuit Board Design 'Training Camp' Jan. 9-10
Student participates in HiDEC Soldering and Surface Mount Technology Workshop, October 2024.
The High Density Electronics Center (HiDEC) will host a printed circuit-board design workshop in OrCAD and Allegro 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 9 and 10 in the AT&T Conference Room at the Engineering Research Center, 700 W. Research Blvd.
The HiDEC PCB Design in OrCAD and Allegro Training Camp will provide practical education in electronics manufacturing through the knowledgeable staff and facilities at HiDEC. The goal is to introduce attendees to the principles and practices of printed circuit-board design to bridge the gap between normal coursework and the actual production of electronic assemblies. The intent is to help HiDEC users to be more successful, as well as better informed to enable better electronics engineering and design.
This is a great opportunity for exposing newer students to the principles. Organizers have specifically chosen dates over winter break to avoid conflicts with classes and other campus activities. Anyone is welcome to participate!
Registration fees defray the cost of materials and tool time:
- $250 for students
- $300 for staff or non-U of A attendees
Snacks and lunch will be provided on Jan. 9. Also, the first four registrants will receive $50 off the registration fee. Sign up soon by emailing Lauryn Adkins (lhyles@uark.edu) or HiDEC email (HiDEC@uark.edu).
