Changes Coming to University OneDrive Storage Limits
Microsoft recently made changes to storage limits for institutional Microsoft 365 accounts, reducing the university's available storage across campus. To ensure the campus community has the capacity needed to perform work efficiently, IT Services is committed to providing a fiscally responsible data storage solution.
To appropriately distribute and manage the U of A's available storage, faculty, staff and students with an @uark.edu email address will soon move to 1TB of OneDrive storage. You are encouraged to begin adjusting storage habits to prevent disruptions in your account services.
If the available storage limit is reached for your account, all documents will become read-only, and you will be unable to create or edit documents in OneDrive.
To view your current storage use, log into OneDrive and navigate to the bottom left corner of your account homepage.
Tips for reducing storage use:
-
Periodically review files stored on OneDrive and SharePoint and remove what is no longer needed.
-
Contact IT Services to discuss moving archival data to an alternate storage solution.
-
Delete Teams and SharePoint sites that are no longer in use.
Users who are close to or over the 1 TB limit can submit a ticket to the university's Microsoft Support Team for assistance managing account storage.
