Environmental Resiliency Completes First Year as Online Offering
With the fall semester nearing conclusion, the Environmental Resiliency Program is celebrating one full year of programs offered online in collaboration with the Graduate School and International Education.
The professional master's degree is geared toward individuals wishing to enhance their degree with specific skills in sustainability and environmental resilience, those in current occupations where understanding these areas will help them make better choices affecting our future, and those who are interested in changing careers or moving up within their organization.
When asking what the difference is between sustainability and resiliency, professor Ken McCown said, "Sustainability is like playing checkers, while resiliency is like playing chess." The Environmental Resiliency Program has created courses offering a solid foundation in sustainability and then moved forward with courses about resiliency.
The Environmental Resiliency Program offers a master's program and eight certification credentials, including:
- An Environmental Resiliency master's program, which includes 10 courses and one thesis
- Four graduate certificates: Environmental Resiliency, Environmental Resiliency Leadership, Environmental Resiliency Sustainability, and Environmental Resiliency Certifications, Accounting and Metrics (which include five courses)
- Four microcertificates: Environmental Resiliency, Environmental Resiliency Leadership, Sustainability, and Environmental Resiliency Certifications, Accounting, and Metrics (which require three courses).
All classes may be used multiple times toward various certifications or the master's degree.
All courses are eight weeks and completely online. You may take courses as electives in your current program (as dictated by your program).
Alternatively, for current students, the application fee for these programs is waived.
