Journey to Healing: Victim to Survivor

As the seasons change, we invite students to focus on their own well-being. Our counseling services for survivors of sexual assault and/or relationship violence offer a confidential space where individuals are fully supported to navigate healing and growth at their own pace. Our counselor is here to honor individual's experiences and help them find strength along the way.

In addition to counseling services, the Sexual and Relationship Violence Center (SRVC) provides individualized victim advocacy. A victim advocate can help explain processes, answer questions, and identify resources. Victim advocacy services are of no cost and confidential as well.

For students interested in hearing from other students and finding support from peers, a peer-based support group is held weekly. The group is facilitated by a SRVC staff member with emphasis of support coming from within the group. Participants find an understanding that they are not alone through the sharing of similar lived experiences while lifting each other up.

To access any of the SRVC victim/survivor services, students may contact the SRVC at survivor@uark.edu, 479-575-4000, or walking in during regular business hours of Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. If in emergent need of a victim advocate after hours, students may call 479-575-4000.
