Parking Reminders for Basketball Season

Parking Reminders for Basketball Season
Photo Submitted

Razorback basketball begins this week, and there are some parking rules during basketball season that the campus community needs to know.

Certain parking lots on campus must be vacated for men's basketball and women's basketball home games. The lots need to be cleared three hours before tipoff, but never before 5 p.m. on weekdays, to help accommodate Razorback fans attending the game.

Students who need to move their vehicles are encouraged to use the economy lot (Lot 500 on Beechwood Avenue) and may move their vehicles back to the main campus once the game is over.

The red lots on the separate maps for men's basketball and women's basketball show which lots must be cleared for basketball games.

Resident reserved lots do not need to be vacated before games. However, some resident reserved lots are near the football and basketball venues, so it is recommended those permitholders try to avoid entering their lot leading up to and during the games, as police can turn away vehicles that do not have gameday parking credentials.

The men's basketball exhibition game against Kansas, which tips off at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, is the first basketball game that will require vehicles without a basketball parking pass to relocate from basketball lots.

The men's first regular season home game is against Lipscomb on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. The women's team's first home game is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, against Fairfield.

The full schedules for both men's basketball and women's basketball teams can be found on arkansasrazorbacks.com.

You can add all basketball events to your Outlook calendar as a reminder to move your car. Instructions for how to do so are on the parking website.

The U of A Campus Services Facebook page and the @uarkservices Instagram account will also post a reminder before each game to move your vehicle.

Football season continues this fall, with Arkansas hosting three more home games: Ole Miss on Nov. 2, Texas on Nov. 16 and Louisiana Tech on Nov. 23. The football parking map shows which lots must be cleared before 11:59 p.m. the night before a home game.

Thanks to everyone for doing your part to make the U of A campus a welcoming environment for Razorback fans. If you have any questions, you can contact Transit and Parking at 479-575-7275.
