Bumpers College Aims to "Keep the Boot" in Annual Ag Challenge With LSU
The U of A and Louisiana State University's colleges of agriculture enter a week-long fundraising challenge centered around the annual football matchup for the third year.
Arkansas' Dale Bumpers of College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and LSU's College of Agriculture created the "Golden Boot Giving Challenge," a crowdfunding competition started in 2022.
The colleges are mirroring the "Battle for the Golden Boot" game between the Razorbacks and Tigers with a philanthropic challenge, running Oct. 13-19 this year, leading up to the 6 p.m. Homecoming matchup on Oct. 19 in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The donation period is Sunday, Oct. 13, through gameday, Saturday, Oct. 19. Any amount donated, as little as $5, counts for the college.
Email accounts can be used just once to make a contribution. Alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students and others are encouraged to make donations in any amount from any available account.
LSU won the initial challenge two years ago, but Arkansas won last year, 171-147. The competition generated $2,692 for the college, which was used to help fund student scholarships.
Bumpers College received $2,455 in donations in 2022 for a two-year total of $5,147.
