FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Inspirational Chorale is excited to announce its first concert of the semester, titled "The Evolution of Praise," set to take place at 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. This captivating event is free to the public and promises an evening of powerful music celebrating the rich heritage of Black Sacred Music.

Under the direction of interim conductor professor Lauren N. Clare, who also serves as the vocal area coordinator and voice instructor, the Inspirational Chorale will showcase a dynamic repertoire featuring works by renowned composers and artists such as Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, Jacob Collier, Moses Hogan and Fred Hammond. The ensemble, which welcomes all students at the University of Arkansas, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the Black sacred music tradition, ensuring that this vital cultural heritage continues to thrive.

Adding to the concert's excitement, the evening will feature a special guest appearance by Jabee, a three-time Emmy Award-winning hip-hop artist and activist. Jabee will not only perform but will also engage with the audience in a guest talk, discussing the intersections of music, activism, and community.

The Inspirational Chorale has garnered recognition for its outstanding performances, including a recent debut at Carnegie Hall in March 2024, where they captivated audiences with their heartfelt interpretations and vibrant energy. This concert, "The Evolution of Praise," promises to be another memorable experience, bringing together diverse musical styles that highlight the transformative power of praise.
