The University of Arkansas requires all full-time employees (30 hours or more per week) to complete a Conflict of Interest and/or Commitment (COI/C) disclosure every year, per Fayetteville Policies and Procedures 404.0. A COI/C is required for all full-time employees, even if they do not have a conflict to disclose.

To satisfy the annual COI/C requirement full-time employees should complete the COI/C disclosure on Workday by December 1.

If a COI/C has been submitted on Workday since July 1, 2024, and no new potential conflict exists, employees have satisfied their annual requirement for 2024-25.

For assistance with completing the COI/C full-time employees should follow steps 9-20 in these instructions. In addition to annual disclosures, full-time employees should also complete the disclosure process any time a new potential conflict of interest or commitment emerges throughout the year.

OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT

The above policy also requires all full-time employees (30 hours or more per week) who receive paid compensation outside of the university to complete an Outside Employment (OE) request on Workday. An OE request should be made for each entity outside of the university that provides paid compensation to a full-time U of A employee. Requests should be completed before employment starts. Full-time employees should also submit an OE request anytime they wish to engage in a new outside employment opportunity. If continuing outside employment from a previous year, full-time UA employees are required to submit an annual OE request. For help in completing an OE request, please see steps 9-20 in these instructions.
