As the fall semester progresses, the Allergy, Immunization and Travel Clinic, part of Medical Services at Pat Walker Health Center, has both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines in supply to help protect the university community. Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to protect both your personal health and the well-being of others from the spread of these viruses.

The AIT Clinic offers the trivalent flu vaccine injection, which is designed to protect against three different flu viruses, including two influenza A viruses and one influenza B virus. The updated COVID-19 vaccine that the AIT Clinic offers is the 2024-2025 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

U of A students, faculty, and staff can receive their vaccines at the Allergy, Immunization and Travel Clinic. Appointments are required to receive the flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule an appointment for either of the vaccines, you can make an appointment on the Patient Portal or call 479-575-4451, option 1. You can receive both the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine simultaneously. Medical Services bills with insurance for all appointments or self-pay is an option. It is important to verify with your insurance provider about coverage for both the flu and COVID vaccines. More information regarding charges at the medical clinics can be found on the health center's Billing and Insurance webpage.

In addition to appointments for flu and COVID-19 vaccines, Medical Services has partnered with the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing again this year to host a "Stick and Treat" flu vaccine clinic inside Pat Walker Health Center in the atrium near the Primary Care Clinic waiting area on Thursday, October 31 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. U of A students, faculty, and staff can attend the flu vaccine clinic and more information about the flu vaccine clinic will be shared via Arkansas News and on @uarkhealth social media accounts closer to the day of the clinic. A U of A ID card and insurance card should be brought to the flu vaccine clinic, or self-pay is an option.
