United Way of Northwest Arkansas partners yearly with the U of A.

This year's U of A United Way Campaign will kick off Tuesday, Oct. 1, and will run through Nov. 1. Renewals and new donations will be accepted online throughout the campaign. Make plans now to participate.

Campaign co-chairs this year are Jason Battles, dean of University Libraries; Suzanne McCray, vice provost of Enrollment Services; and Elvis Moya, associate athletics director of community outreach and fan engagement.

"The U of A's annual United Way campaign provides critical resources to those in our community who need it most," Battles said. "We're proud to continue this long-standing partnership and excited to see the impact our campus will have on Northwest Arkansas."

The United Way of Northwest Arkansas has served the region since 1931 with a focus on bringing individuals together for the common good of all. In 1935, students at the U of A mobilized to help United Way raise funds for community programs, and so began a lasting friendship between the campus community and United Way of Northwest Arkansas. Together, they have been leading the way since.

"The University of Arkansas partnered for the very first United Way workplace giving campaign to be held in Northwest Arkansas, almost 100 years ago," said Hannah Savage, interim CEO of United Way Northwest Arkansas. "We are so happy to continue our relationship today. The university's employees, faculty and staff are truly leading the way to make our community a better place to live."

The fundraising goal for this year's campaign is $100,000. Donations support a number of programs that benefit the Northwest Arkansas region, including community investment grants and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

OPTIONS FOR GIVING:

Payroll deductions, recurring gifts or one-time credit card donations can be made online at unitedway.uark.edu beginning Oct. 1.
