Analytical Chemistry Seminar on Membrane-Based Operations Friday

Ranil Wickramasinghe

Ranil Wickramasinghe, distinguished professor in the Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering, will give a seminar titled "Development of membrane based operations for emerging separations challenges" in CHEM 144 from 4-5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

There will be refreshments available before the seminar starting at 3:30 p.m. in CHEM 145. The talk is free and open to the public.

Wickramasinghe holds the Ross E. Martin Chair in Emerging Technologies. He is an Arkansas Research Alliance Scholar and director of the Membrane Applications Science and Technology Center, a National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center. Wickramasinghe is the executive editor of Separation Science and Technology.

Wickramasinghe obtained his B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Melbourne. He obtained his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota. He worked for five years in the biotechnology/biomedical industry in the Boston area prior to joining the Department of Chemical Engineering at Colorado State University. He joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the U of A in 2011.
