Faculty, Researchers Honored at Bumpers College Service Awards Reception

Seven faculty members, scientists and researchers in U of A's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences were recently recognized with milestone service awards to the college, university, Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and UA System Division of Agriculture.

  • 25-Year Award
    • Ken Korth, department chair, entomology and plant pathology
    • Ya-Jane Wang, professor, food science
  • 10-Year Award
    • Betsy Garrison, professor, human development and family sciences
    • Shari Moxley, teaching assistant professor, human development and family sciences

In addition, two faculty members were recognized for serving as honors program mentors for the first time, instructor Austin Jones in entomology and plant pathology, and assistant professor Shannon Speir in crop, soil and environmental sciences. Jones mentored Baylie Day along with professor Ashley Dowling and Speir mentored Amadeo Scott.

The ceremony was held at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House on Sept. 5.
