Upcoming Pitch Panel Sessions for W. M. Keck Foundation Funding
The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations in University Advancement and the Office of Research Development in the Division of Research and Innovation will be co-hosting pitch panel sessions for the Keck Research Program on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Hudson Conference Room (ADMN 429).
The Keck Research Program seeks to benefit humanity by supporting medical research and science and engineering projects that are distinctive and novel in their approach, question the prevailing paradigm or have the potential to break open new territory in their field.
Past Keck Research Program grants have been awarded to major universities, independent research institutions and medical schools to support pioneering biological and physical science research and engineering, including the development of promising new technologies, instrumentation or methodologies. Grants range from $1 million to $5 million and are typically $2 million or less. Please see Keck's grant abstracts for examples of funded projects.
The pitch session will consist of a five-minute presentation of ideas for novel, groundbreaking medical and/or science and engineering research projects from the applicant, followed by a five-minute Q&A about the topic from the review panel. Applicants can choose to bring one slide to go along with their pitch, but must at least submit an abstract through the InfoReady portal to be considered for the sessions.
Sign up for a pitch session here. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Sept. 10, at noon.
