The main facility for the Department of University Recreation and Wellness is the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) building, located at 155 N. Stadium Dr. Highlights include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, three basketball courts, an indoor track, functional training areas, cycle studio, racquetball courts, bouldering and climbing walls and UREC Outdoors. This summer, the U of A began a 15-month renovation of the HPER Building, aiming to modernize its infrastructure and enhance its architectural design. The project will introduce new features designed to significantly improve the recreational experience for both students and members. Learn more about the HPER renovation project on our website. The building is still open and operating. All UREC programming and offerings are still available during construction.
The UREC Fitness Center, conveniently located in the middle of campus on the second floor of the Arkansas Union, features almost 6,000 square feet of gym floor space and fully equipped men's and women's locker and shower facilities.
