First Annual Garland Avenue Block Party Welcomes the Campus Community
Come join the departments and retail shops along Garland Avenue for the first ever Garland Avenue Block Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 27. Many of the services along Garland Avenue between Maple and Cleveland are coming together to greet the university community for a new academic year.
The event features games, snacks, prize raffles and swag. Come have a snow cone with the Sexual & Relationship Violence Center or snacks with the Veterans and Military-Affiliated Student Center. Pick up a wellness kit with Liquid IV, toothpaste and sunscreen outside of Walmart. Learn of a special promotional value for Invisalign with McQueen Dental. Lots of fun games with the Multicultural Center. Ketchup tasting with the International Students and Scholars, and more.
The shops and offices are excited to welcome back students. This is a great opportunity to have fun, learn about what's along Garland Avenue on campus and enjoy time together as a community.
Participants include Sexual & Relationship Violence Center, Veterans and Military-Affiliated Student Center, Multicultural Center, Treasurer's Office, the Bookstore, Counseling and Psychological Services, the Wellness program, the Office of International Students and Scholars, McQueen Dental, First Security and Walmart.
