The Applied Behavior Analysis Program at the U of A has three openings for preschool-aged children with complex communication needs.

The free program meets from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from Aug. 27 to Dec. 5. A second session will run during the spring semester. The program does not bill insurance or Medicaid.

Children participating in the program are taught in a preschool learning environment using ABA methods. Each preschool child is assigned a graduate student to work with them throughout the 12-week program, which is overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analysis Doctoral Level (BCBA-D).

Children must meet the following criteria to attend the preschool group:

  • Be between the ages of 2 and 5 years old
  • Have a diagnosis of autism or be on a waiting list for an autism diagnostic evaluation
  • Have complex communication needs

Interested families/caregivers/case managers should contact Liz Lorah, associate professor of special education, at lorah@uark.edu.
