Welcome to the neighborhood! We'll say hello this week to thousands of incoming new Razorbacks to the U of A.

Move-In 2024 officially begins this week.

The process starts as soon as today, but the bulk of the 7,200 students with housing contracts will move in between Wednesday and Saturday.

University Housing staff invites the campus community to welcome these new arrivals and returning residential students to the university community.

MOVE-IN ROUTES

Move-In maps show the proper arrival routes to each community. It is crucial that arriving students and parents follow these routes to avoid construction areas that may hinder their arrival.

For more information about moving to campus, you may go to movein.uark.edu.

Arrival hangtags were mailed to each student who selected an arrival time before July 9.

These arrival hangtags should be displayed on a mirror or dashboard. They grant permission to enter and unload in the lot closest to the residence hall.

Officials at the residence halls will assist those who do not have an arrival hangtag.

PARKING CHANGES

The last day faculty and staff can park in Resident Reserved lots will be Tuesday. Those lots must be vacated by 5 p.m. Tuesday to prepare for move-in. These lots will be used to allow arriving students close access to unload their items starting Wednesday.

All Resident Reserved lots will open to Resident Reserved permit holders Saturday evening at the conclusion of the scheduled move-in activities for that day.

STREET CLOSING

University Housing will block off Stadium Drive between the two roundabouts east of Adohi Hall from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.

This is the block of Stadium Drive just east of Adohi Hall.

While motorists will have access to the roundabouts, they are encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible because of student move-in traffic. Motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution in this area during these times.

PARENT AND STUDENT PARKING

After arriving at the residence hall and moving their items to their room, students and guests must park elsewhere on campus between Wednesday and Saturday.

Parents or family members who are assisting their students during move-in can park in the following locations:

  • Garland Avenue Parking Garage (Levels 4-6)

  • Harmon Avenue Parking Garage (Levels 7-9)

  • Lots on the west side of Razorback Road (non-overnight lots)

  • Lots 320, 321 and 322 on the south side of campus

Parking for parents, however, should only be used during the day, not for overnight parking.

Students should park in Lots 320, 321 and 322 on the south end of campus during move-in.

Current parking permit holders can still park in the non-resident reserved areas previously mentioned but should remember that conditions are crowded during move-in.

University Police will have an increased presence during move-in, with officers stationed at various places on campus to help keep traffic moving.
