Faculty Affairs Accepting Applications for Provost's Faculty Resource Fellow
The Office for Faculty Affairs invites tenured full professors who do not currently hold an administrative position, including department chair/head, to apply to become the Provost's Faculty Resource Fellow.
Spearheaded by Provost Terry Martin, the newly established fellowship allows U of A faculty to gain leadership experience by helping colleagues who are seeking resources and assistance regarding workplace questions, concerns or disagreements. The Faculty Resource Fellow will listen and provide information about potential channels for resolving personnel and workplace issues. The Faculty Resource Fellow will complement existing services, assisting the Office for Faculty Affairs by offering informal, collaborative help in identifying practical solutions. Working with the Office for Faculty Affairs, the fellow may also conduct customized professional development workshops for faculty on managing conflict, difficult conversations and related skills. The fellow will receive training to assist the Office for Faculty Affairs in offering informal collaborative help and become acquainted with key existing services and official channels.
The fellowship will begin during the fall 2024 semester and run through June 30, 2025, with a possibility of renewal for up to two additional years. The fellow will receive a $5,000 stipend per semester and $2,500 for the first half summer 2025 (May 15 through June 30, 2025).
Those wishing to be considered for the fellowship should submit this application by Aug. 19, 2024. Applicants must provide a brief cover letter addressing their interest in the position, a short bio highlighting their experience and/or expertise relative to the position, a current CV and letters of support from their department chair/head and dean.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by Provost Martin, and the fellow will be notified of their selection by the beginning of September 2024.
