FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – On Tuesday, April 23, the International Employee Resource Involvement in Campus Activities and Initiatives marked a celebration of the diverse cultural inclusion into the fabric of the University of Arkansas community. The event, organized by the International Employees Resource Group, OEOC & Title IX Belonging and Engagement, and the Teaching and Faculty Support Center, underscored the invaluable contributions of international faculty and staff in nurturing an inclusive and diverse campus environment.

As a premier institution committed to fostering cultural exchange and understanding, the University of Arkansas takes pride in recognizing the enriching impact of its international faculty and staff. Through their dedicated efforts, the campus thrives as a vibrant mosaic of traditions, perspectives, and experiences.

"This celebration highlights the importance of embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity within our campus community," said Adnan Alrubaye, assistant professor of poultry science and the president of the International Employee Resource Group. "Our international employees play a pivotal role in shaping the rich cultural landscape of the University of Arkansas, and events like these provide a platform to honor their contributions."

The event served as an opportunity to reflect upon the diverse cultural influences that permeate every aspect of university life. Attendees were invited to engage in dialogue, celebrate traditions, and forge connections that transcend borders and boundaries.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the support of the Teaching and Faculty Support Center and Angela Mosley-Monts, director of belonging and engagement. Their unwavering commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion has been instrumental in shaping the University of Arkansas into a welcoming and supportive community for all.

Members of the International Employee Resource Group expressed their gratitude to the Teaching and Faculty Support Center and Dr. Mosley-Monts for their invaluable support and collaboration. As they look ahead, they remain steadfast in their dedication to nurturing a campus environment that celebrates the richness of cultural diversity and fosters a sense of belonging for all.
