Three students from the Department of Music have secured scholarships from the International Trumpet Guild for 2024. Sophie Jaquez, Bradly Mathews and Nathan Steinmuller have been recognized for their exceptional talent and dedication to the trumpet.

Jaquez and Mathews have received scholarships for the second consecutive year. Jaquez has also garnered additional acclaim as she was recently announced as the recipient of the Robert Bright Scholarship. This prestigious award, determined by a unanimous vote from the brass faculty, is a testament to Jaquez's outstanding musicianship and commitment to her craft. The Robert Bright Scholarship recognizes individuals who exhibit not only exceptional technical prowess but also a profound understanding of musical expression and artistry.

The scholarships awarded to Jaquez, Mathews and Steinmuller will not only provide financial support but also offer them invaluable opportunities to further their musical education.

For more information on the International Trumpet Guild 2024 Conference or the Robert Bright Scholarship, please contact associate professor of trumpet Rich Rulli or the Department of Music office.
