Nineteenth Century Latin American Literature Specialist to Visit the U of A
Francesca Denegri Denegri of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru will give a lecture from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday at Mullins Library 453 and a workshop at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at J.B. Hunt Center 207.
Denegri received a doctorate in Hispanic studies from King's College, University of London. She lectured with the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at University College London and currently works in the Department of Humanities of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, supervises the Ph.D. program in Hispano-American Literature and coordinates the RIEL XIX Interdisciplinary Network of 19th-century Latin American Studies research group. She has been a visiting lecturer at UCLA's Department of Spanish and Portuguese and at Bonn University's Department of Romance Languages and Literatures.
Denegri has published several articles and books on women's novels and the nation, autobiographical fiction in Latin America, feminist literary theory, 19th century travel writing and testimonial narratives. Her visit to the U of A will include two events:

Denegri's workshop on Latin American testimonio will take place 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at the World Languages Digital Humanities Studio, J.B. Hunt Center room 207.
