Engineering RSO oSTEM to Host Semester Send-Off Celebration

Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (oSTEM) and College of Engineering Office of Community and Engagement are proud to announce the upcoming Semester Send-Off party at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 2, on the lawn of Engineering Hall.

This event's goal is to offer students a chance to relax, socialize, participate in games and enjoy a meal with their peers, faculty and staff before finals commence. Beyond merely being a gathering, this occasion functions as a space for fostering belonging and cultivating relationships. This is especially important as the spring semester ends just before the start of LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Moreover, the pressure of studying intensifies just before finals. The Semester Send-Off seeks to alleviate some of that stress by providing a healthy break in this space.

oSTEM invites all students, faculty and staff to attend this event. Associate professor Benjamin Runkle and Associate Dean Bryan Hill are the advisers for oSTEM. Make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to refresh and recharge before finals — mark your calendars for May 2!

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee. This event is held in a venue that meets ADA standards. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend this event. If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event, please contact Theavan Saitang, president of oSTEM, tdsaitan@uark.edu, 479-459-4914, or Patrice Storey, assistant director of community and engagement, College of Engineering, patrices@uark.edu
