Theresa Delaplain, assistant professor of music who won a grant from the Creative Arkansas Community Hub and Exchange, or CACHE, to perform in the Mixtape series at The Medium, will perform her program at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17. The series is a program of the Creative Exchange Fund, which is designed to activate The Medium in Springdale as a community-led destination by promoting professional performing artists, artist residencies, curatorial opportunities and music development.

Delaplain will present a social justice program entitled "Of Children, Mind and Earth," a multi-media set for oboe and electronics, with two of her own works, including the premiere of "The Voices," for oboe and electronic track. The works on the program will all include audio and/or video, which will be accompanied by the acoustic oboe. Topics for the works are issues of children's rights, psychological health and the environment. Delaplain said, "It is my hope that this performance will generate thought, interest in and more awareness of these topics."

The concert is free and open to the public. The Medium is at 214 S. Main St. in Springdale.
