The Peer Safety Project, directed by Tim Cavell, professor of psychological science, is recruiting undergraduate mentors for the fall 2024 semester. Students will learn about school bullying and youth mentoring, mentor an elementary school student twice a week and write a term paper about their experiences.

In return, mentors receive three hours of course credit and many great experiences. Mentors are required to participate in a screening interview and a brief training, undergo a criminal background check, have reliable transportation and have lunch availability for at least two hours twice a week (roughly between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.).

You will be scheduled for 30 minutes of mentoring plus drive time (approximately 90 minutes total) twice a week. Organizers of the course are interested in recruiting mentors from any college and major.
