Math celebration participant works to make a 3D polyhedron using a paper template.

This Saturday, April 13, the Department of Mathematical Sciences will hold the 2024 Arkansas Math Discovery Day,  at the Fayetteville Public Library. This community event explores the wonderful world of math beyond the classroom — with fascinating patterns, puzzles and questions. Members of the Department of Mathematical Sciences will share their love and joy of mathematics through a variety of hands-on activities for the whole family, including math games, puzzles, art and more. 

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to high-level mathematical research and mathematics instruction and to the values of a broad, interdisciplinary education, preparing students for a variety of different career goals, including industry, education, and further graduate study.  The Department is also committed to bringing together and strengthening the math community to increase access to math and inspire the broader Arkansas community. 

The 2024 Arkansas Math Discovery Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Fayetteville Public Library.
