Lynn Stewart to Retire After More Than 30 Years; Reception Today
Lynn Stewart, budget director for U of A School of Law, will retire March 31 after more than 30 years of service to the university. Stewart has been a stalwart member of the law school's administrative team since 1998. As the director of budgets, human resources and building services, he has served as liaison to Facilities Management, as well as to the university's Division of Finance and Administration.
"Lynn has been an indispensable member of the School of Law's administrative team for more than 25 years," said Cynthia Nance, dean of the School of Law. "During that time, he has seen us through major construction, several deans and funding fluctuations with a steady hand. We will miss Lynn — his professionalism, steadiness and warm, wry humor -- but wish him the very best in his new life."
As a vital member of the law school's administrative team, Stewart helped advance initiatives in a fiscally sound and thoughtful manner, using his deep institutional memory and thorough understanding of university processes. Prior to joining the School of Law, Stewart served as associate director for Facilities Management.
There will be a reception to celebrate Stewart's retirement from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in the Six Pioneers Room of the School of Law.
