Libraries Cover Fees to Publish in American Chemical Society Journals

The University Libraries are pleased to announce that University of Arkansas researchers can publish open access articles in American Chemical Society journals without paying an article processing charge. This service is made possible by an agreement between the libraries and the publisher.

According to Luti Salisbury, director of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Library, "U of A STEM faculty and researchers from the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture have published over 175 peer-reviewed papers in the ACS journals since 2020. Publishing our papers open access in these high-ranking journals provides increased visibility for our university and of the research that is being conducted here."

Any faculty, staff, postdoc or student affiliated with the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville who serves as the corresponding author is eligible for this program. The article must be published open access in a hybrid journal or a selection of other journals sponsored by the American Chemical Society. Authors can find the list of eligible journals on the ACS webpage
