The Army ROTC's Ranger Challenge Team to Compete at Sandhurst for a Second Consecutive Year

The U of A Army ROTC's Ranger Challenge Team when they earned first place at the Brigade level Ranger Challenge competition.

The Ranger Challenge Team of Army ROTC will be once again traveling to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, to compete in the 55th Sandhurst Military Skills Competition.

Fifty teams from all over the world will complete a grueling 36-hour course including long-distance movements over rough terrain, team fitness events, marksmanship and medical skill challenges, among other rigorous tasks.

Last November at the regional competion at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, the U of A Army ROTC beat 11 other Army ROTC teams in the region to be one of only 16 to qualify for the Sandhurst competion out of 274 Army ROTC programs in the nation.  

"We're incredibly proud of our young Razorback Battalion men and women for earning a spot in the prestigious Sandhurst competition for two years in a row," said Lt. Col. Sidney Roberts, U of A professor of military science. "They are a gritty and determined group who train five days a week while balancing strenuous college classes. They are leaders in every sense of the word."

The Ranger Challenge Team of the U of A Army ROTC are the following:
