AECT Student Clubs to Host Annual Lawnmower Tune-Up

The  U of A Agricultural Systems & Technology and FFA Alumni clubs will be hosting the annual Lawnmower Tune-Up fundraiser Friday and Saturday, March 29-30.

The event will take place at the Abernathy Agriscience and Technology Education Center, 1194 W. Cassatt Rd., off Garland Avenue, approximately two miles north of the U of A campus.

Services provided for push lawnmowers will include blade sharpening, oil change, filter and plug maintenance and external wash. Lawnmower service will cost $40. Weed eater service costs $20 and includes filter and plug maintenance. If spark plugs, filters or blades must be replaced, the actual cost of these parts will be added. All lawnmowers and weed eaters must be in running order at drop-off; repairs to non-running mowers and weed eaters will not be made as part of the tune-up.

If you want to have your lawnmower or weed eater serviced, please pre-register using the link below. Service will be provided for pre-registered customers only.

Registered customers can drop off push style lawnmowers and weed eaters between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Customers will be notified by phone when their mowers are ready for pick-up. Mowers can be picked up until 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.

"This is an easy, convenient way for folks to get ready for mowing season," said Don Johnson, University Professor and Ag Systems & Technology Club adviser. "Plus, it's a great way to help support our student organizations."

The Ag Systems & Technology and the FFA Alumni clubs work together to host the Lawnmower Tune Up fundraiser, and proceeds are used to support professional and educational activities for the clubs. The Ag Systems & Technology club is an educational, professional development organization for students who are interested in agricultural technology. The FFA Alumni Club is an organization for students to support FFA and agricultural education across the state of Arkansas.
